Earth Month is a reminder that the small choices we make every day quietly shape the world our children will grow into.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
As a brand built by parents, we think deeply about the everyday decisions we make—
what we buy, what we keep, and what we normalize for our children. It’s not about perfection—it’s about making more considered choices, consistently.
We believe:
• Sustainability should feel thoughtful, not overwhelming
• Everyday products can carry meaning
• Design should go beyond aesthetics—it should last
Because more than anything, children learn from what we choose.
BEYOND MATERIALS
Sustainability is often talked about in simple terms—recycled materials, vegan alternatives, or “eco-friendly” labels.
But in reality, it’s rarely that simple.
Every material comes with trade-offs.
Recycled fabrics can reduce the need for new resources, but still require energy and have limits in how they can be reused.
Vegan materials offer an alternative to animal-based products, but are often derived from plastics.
Natural materials may last longer, but come with their own environmental and ethical considerations.
There is no perfect material.
We don’t believe sustainability should be reduced to one.
What matters just as much—if not more—is how long something stays in use.
Because a product used for years has a very different impact than one that is quickly replaced.
At Viv & Leigh, we see sustainability as a balance of better materials, thoughtful design, and longer use.
